Hopper Mott Bunting Lawyers (previously Mott and Associates, Solicitors) has been established in Cleveland since 1970. In 2016 the firm was acquired from the original Principal by Jim and Helen Bunting. In 2024, the firm acquired Hopper Green York solicitors which has been trading at Capalaba since 1980.
Jim Bunting
Principal
Jim is our firm’s Principal solicitor bringing with him a diverse background with a degree in Law as well as a degree in Information Technology. Jim has worked for many large corporations such as Boeing, Harris Communications Systems, Tatts Group, Scientific Applications International and Mincom. He has worked on numerous highly complex large value agreements up to $16b in value.

Solicitor
Lauren is our Property and Estates Solicitor. Before receiving her Bachelor of Law at QUT, she taught in local Brisbane schools as a music teacher. Her friendly demeanour and prioritisation of client’s interests allows for clients to receive the best possible outcome. Lauren’s calm nature is invaluable within our team.
Helen
Practice Manager
Our Practice Manager, Helen has spent many years in human resources and operations management and has worked for large organisations such as the Australian Tax Office, Target and PCYC. Helen’s positive and energetic nature ensures our clients are taken care of professionally and feel comfortable in what can sometimes feel like unchartered waters.

Since joining the firm in 2023, Cruze has gained experience across many areas including but not limited to Property Law, Estate Planning and Estate Administration, Commercial Law, Criminal Law, Family Law, and Court Processes. Cruze is also a Qualified Justice of the Peace. Cruze demonstrates a strong work ethic and commitment to assisting our Solicitors and Clients to the best of his ability, whatever their needs.

Lexi is a law student, bringing enthusiasm and diligence, to her role. She’s passionate about learning the ins and outs of the legal world and is already making meaningful contributions to the firm while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic legal environment. She is excited to build her career in law with a focus on integrity, empathy, and professionalism. She currently assists with conveyancing, estate administration and on reception.

Madison is a Paralegal currently completing a double degree in Law and Behavioural Science at QUT, with an expected graduation in July 2026. She will soon undertake her Practical Legal Training as she progresses toward admission as a solicitor. Born and raised in Brisbane’s south side, Madison brings both local insight and a strong connection to the community. She has a strong background in estate matters and property transactions, building a well-rounded foundation early in her career. Madison recognises that clients often seek legal assistance during stressful times. She is committed to making the process as clear, supportive, and stress-free as possible, ensuring clients feel heard and guided every step of the way.
